Shadeen Anglin was raised in the remote community of John Reid in the parish of St. Ann, Jamaica. From an early age she loved to write, producing little story books that were often displayed in her school library. She went on to study political science, and her career took her to Kingston, through the busy BPO sector and into the newsroom as a news editor and broadcaster at TBC Radio.
Having had her first supernatural experience at a very young age, she is no stranger to the peculiar activities of the invisible realm. Yet for years she wanted nothing to do with the church. One morning, she stormed into a worship service in her pyjamas to put an end to the “nuisance” that was disturbing her sleep.
The call
God had other plans. In 2016, she came to realise that she had been called to ministry. Answering God’s call to a deep, intimate relationship with Him, she left everything behind to follow Jesus, a journey she details in her memoir, I’ve Seen Jesus: Details of a Divine Call to Intimacy and the Supernatural.
“Today, she is a minister of the Gospel, leading many in the ministry she once loathed, and guiding many to surrender to the God she once scorned.”From I’ve Seen Jesus
The testing season
That season taught her to lean completely on God. She lost her job and faced indignities such as being unable to pay her rent. She watched in amazement as her Master came through for her as her Jireh time and time again, always making sure that her bills were paid, that there was a roof over her head and that there was food on her table.
A voice for this generation
During the Covid-19 pandemic, her preaching and prayers on Facebook and YouTube brought hope to families around the world, and many, especially young people, gave their lives to Christ. Today, at a time when many are unwilling to profess their faith, Shadeen Anglin has drawn a line in the sand and made it her life’s mission to boldly testify to the unwavering goodness of God. Her desire is to preach in nations and to mobilise young people to pursue their God-given purpose.
